Sessions Underground is a company that started as a “challenge” on my behalf. My first days of working for Miss Utility(public utilities service), I learned that there is quite the difference between public and private utilities. Learning shortly after that there was a desperate need for private utility marking services, especially for home owners. There is a point where public utility responsibilities end and home owners need a continuation of those services in a residential aspect. When inquiring about creating a company to accommodate those needs I received responses such as, it would be too expensive and that the outcome for such a business didn’t look bright. I thought to myself …Challenge accepted! I set out on a mission to learn all I could about all aspects of utilities and continued to do so for 7 years. I followed in my fathers foot prints in the same line of business. He had been a 33 year veteran of AT&T/Verizon and went on to support a family of four by working utilities for the general public. I knew immediately that I, myself, wanted a career in the utilities industry. So, with the education I received through my years at Miss Utility and a little help from friends and family… Sessions Underground Inc was born in 2005. We have since been dedicated to finding utilities for our customers.

Sessions Underground picks up where your local utilities service leaves off. We locate and mark residential utilities that public utility services are not responsible for. Sessions Inc. will accept any and all challenges from home owners to giants of general contracting. We offer service from clientele of Dominion Power in Altavista, Va to Virginia Tech & Carilion Hospital.
Our job starts where Miss Utility ends. We are not a replacement for Miss Utility. It is Virginia state law that 811 be contacted 48 hours prior to any excavation. My company is simply a continuation of the services local utilities provide. Miss Utility was designed to protect public utilities only. City power grids, gas and telephone services, among others are covered under your local provider.
Any other utilities past those city owned are considered private and therefore belonging to the property owner. These private utilities are where Sessions Inc. steps in and steps up.
